ABOUT OUR CO-OP PROGRAM:
Our 8 month program is an opportunity for students enrolled in a post-secondary education program to gain hands-on experience in the live event technology industry. This is a paid program with a 32 hour a week schedule. Students will work a hybrid schedule from one of our physical locations (Dallas or Montreal).
The program is set to start on January 12, 2026 and end on August 14, 2026. As with all of our new hires, we look for motivated people who exemplify our core values to join our team.
As a Leap Event Technology Student, you will:
Take part in our mentorship program: Be paired with an experienced member of our team
Participate in weekly student cohort activities and events (social, team building, training)
Connect with Senior Leadership: One-on-one conversation with your department head and a Q&A session with our CEO
Have access to 360Learning: a world-class learning and development platform
Set goals: Work with your manager to determine what you want to accomplish during the program and receive feedback on your performance
AS A STUDENT WEB SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
Collaborate with a team of Engineers to accomplish tasks and build production-ready software
Gain exposure to modern software development and infrastructure toolsets
Participate in agile methodologies, especially specifically utilizing the Scrum framework
Learn to debug and test front-end and back-end software
Rotate working with peers in different aspects of development to experience the full end-to-end code lifecycle
Leverage AI powered development tools to speed up coding, testing, and problem solving.
Example intern projects may include:
Contributing to the code base through small feature development items and bug fixes
Assisting Senior Engineers to plan and execute a major PHP framework migration
Working with Engineers and DevOps to improve continuous deployment pipeline
Improving front-end and back-end end-to-end test coverage
REQUIREMENTS:
Enrolled in a related post-secondary program
Motivated to learn and work in a fast paced environment
Have successfully completed courses in web development and/or computer science
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Communication and presentation skills
Personal software development or school portfolio strongly considered
