ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
Our 12 week summer internship program is an opportunity for students enrolled in a post-secondary education program to gain hands-on experience in the live event technology industry. This is a paid internship with a 32 hours a week schedule. Interns will work a hybrid schedule from one of our physical locations (Dallas or Montreal). The program is set to start on May 20, 2025 and end on August 8, 2025. As with all of our new hires, we look for motivated people who exemplify our core values to join our team.
As a Leap Event Technology intern, you will:
Take part in our mentorship program: Be paired with an experienced member of our team
Participate in weekly intern cohort activities and events (social, team building, training)
Connect with Senior Leadership: One-on-one conversation with your department head and a Q&A session with our CEO

We seek enthusiastic students pursuing a degree or certificate in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field for a Summer 2025 internship. If you are passionate about developing clear, high-quality documentation for a range of product users, we would love to have you join our team. The successful candidate will take pride in producing clear, concise, and precise documentation, helping customers accomplish their daily tasks with ease.
As part of our team, you can collaborate with subject matter experts across different departments while being guided by a senior writer with extensive experience in various industries. Our team is responsible for producing content for Leap Event Technology’s product help centers and internal knowledge base. In this fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will hone your communication skills and play a role in scaling our business solutions to the next generation, driving Leap Event Technology to new levels of efficiency and success.

AS A DOCUMENTATION INTERN, YOU WILL:
Partner with subject matter experts and your mentor to plan and develop documentation deliverables.
Create, review, and refine accurate, user-friendly documentation for various Leap Event Technology products.
Improve existing documentation by incorporating feedback from users and internal teams. Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Product Management, Technical Support, and UX teams to ensure content accuracy and effectiveness.
Job requirements
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program such as BCMM in Communication with a focus on Information Design, BA in English with a major in Professional Writing, or a Technical Writing certificate program.
Proficiency in creating and reviewing help content for software/online products.
Strong organizational abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all documentation.
BONUS SKILLS:
Familiarity with documentation tools like Google Docs and Microsoft Word
Basic understanding of AI tools and prompting
Strong research skills to gather and understand technical information.
Ability to write with a user-focused approach, ensuring clarity and usability.
Familiarity with basic design principles or tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for creating simple diagrams or visuals.
Experience working with content management systems (CMS) for organizing and publishing documentation.
Understanding of basic SEO principles to improve online content discoverability.
Awareness of user experience (UX) and interface (UI) principles to enhance documentation.
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new tools as needed.
